Researchers Reveal 'Super Broccoli' With More Glucoraphanin For improving Heart Health

To prevent heart-related problems, British scientists have done tests, in which they have developed a new type of broccoli that would have more amount of glucoraphanin, than normal.

Glucoraphanin is important nutrient found in broccoli, and helps to avoid heart disease. It breaks down fat in the body and not let the same deposit in the arteries. Richard Mithen, who is the principal investigator of the Institute of Food Research in Norwich, England, was of the opinion that this is not the first time the vegetables were used to avoid a problem because they have already become `a medicine cabinet." When you want to taste the new broccoli, he could not find any difference in taste, but it would help reduce cholesterol. Broccoli lovers can find it a little sweeter, and Richard said it is due to less sulphur.

It is chosen as "super broccoli" and was made using three different elements. First, the broccoli was a cross with a wild ride Sicilian, which is slightly bitter taste, and finally had injected an overdose of glucoraphanin. He has took 14 years to produce this hybrid. European Authorities have given the green signal to the variety, which was granted a patent.

It was for sale, but limited, in stores in California and Texas, and will be available in the UK this month. This super-broccoli is now listed in the category of foods that have received injections of additional nutrients. Some vegetables and fruits that fall into this category, calcium-fortified orange juice, fortified cereals and sugar, and omega-3 fatty acids in fortified milk, vitamin D and vitamin C enriched tomato mushrooms and potatoes enriched with selenium.

These products will be a great way not as a dressing with hamburger, fries.
